Michael Cooper
Michael Coopers was one of the founding
members of funk band Con Funk Shun,
but after the band disbanded in1988 he decided to follow a solocareer.
His LP "Love Is Such a Funny Game" yielded a huge hit in "To
Prove My Love,"
which made it to number three on the R&B charts. His follow-up release,
"Just
What I Like", in 1989, was also moderately successful. His third
release," Get Closer",
included appearances from jazz musicians Roy Ayers, Charles Tolliver, and Buddy
Montgomery and was issued in 1992.
Con Funk Shun reunited in the '90s and also recorded a few new songs for the
United
We Funk project that was a tribute to the late Roger Troutman. During 2000
together with
members of SOS Band, Dazz Band, BarKays and Charlie Wilson of the Gap Band they
toured the US.
In 2001 Michael released his fourth solo album "This Heart Of Mine".
