K-Ci & JoJo
K-Ci & JoJo, a solo project for one of
the two brother teams which make up Jodeci,
specifically Cedric "K-Ci" and Joel "JoJo" Hailey, followed
up their group success with a
1997 album, Love Always. Emphasizing lush R&B ballads a bit more than on
Jodeci
records, the Haileys debuted as K-Ci & JoJo in mid-1996 on 2Pac's single
"How Do U
Want It," which spent two weeks at number one on the pop charts and sold
over two
million copies. Their first solo single was "How Could You," and
"You Bring Me Up" hit
the Top 40 in August 1997, just before the release of K-Ci & JoJo's debut
album, Love
Always. It's Real followed two years later and X was released in late 2000.
